Lot description
Original document handwritten by Fernando Pessoa. A page written on both sides with his translation of a passage from William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. Dialogue between Bernardo, Marcellus and Horatio, Scene I, Act I (incomplete), first apparition of King Hamlet’s ghost. Ink on paper. On the back, handwritten texts in English dated “6-11-1920”, crossed out by the author with a note that reads “Copied”. Pencil on paper.

M. - És lido, Horácio, fala-lhe.
B. - Não é tal e qual o rei? Repara, Horácio.
H - Tal qual: comove-me de medo e espanto.
